Vauxhall Onstar Wins Innovation Award​​

Vauxhall’s new in-car connectivity technology has been recognised by the prestigious BusinessCar Fleet Technology Awards for its new OnStar service, which launches this September. Onstar was recognised as the winner in the highly contested ‘Innovation’ category.

Onstar is a brand new connectivity system that allows drivers to connect to a trained Vauxhall advisor if you have an accident or emergency. The service will be available 24/7 and will also give owners access to a host of additional services such as roadside assistance and vehicle diagnosis. What’s great about Onstar is that owners do not have to be in the vehicle to use the service, they can access the system though their smartphone using the Onstar app. The technology is already enjoyed by seven million GM customers in North America, China and Mexico, and from September UK Vauxhall owners can also enjoy Onstar.

The BusinessCar Fleet Technology Awards or ‘Techies’ as they are known, have been running for the last seven years, and are judged by BusinessCar’s expert editorial team with help from TRL’s technology expert. The ‘Techies’ recognise the best in technology and only award to those who are dedicated to making life easier, cleaner, safer and more efficient for business car fleets.
