A test model for Volkswagen's upcoming Tiguan has been seen during pre-production runs in the Alps. The release date is expected to be in late 2014 or early 2015, and the test car has shown evidence of new technology being developed by Volkswagen.
The Tiguan is likely to arrive in a range of three body styles, which will include a five-door coupé as well as a long-wheelbase variant. This version of the vehicle will offer seating for seven people, and will offer greatly increased cabin room and luggage capacity.
Within the model, new technological options have been spotted. Volkswagen is testing the vehicle with a new steering wheel, an updated speedometer and a freestanding infotainment system.
Under the bonnet, the Tiguan will be based on the MQB platform’s configuration, and motorists will have a wide variety of choices – all potent four-cylinder engines. Possible options include a 1.4-litre TSI petrol, a 1.6-litre TDI diesel, and another 2.0-litre TDI.
