A journey from the foot of the Peak District in Derbyshire to Northamptonshire and on to Suffolk offers so much in the way of opportunity. The beginning of the trip is nestled deep in a market town moulded by its relationship with the industrial revolution. Visitors will soon recognise the remnants of that period which have been laid to rest here, from the Victorian market hall, which is open five days a week, to the great canal, that incorporates an impressive 2,880ft tunnel. Cross the county border into Northamptonshire and you’ll be just as quick to notice the contrast.

Walk around the grounds before settling in for a cup of Earl Grey at the interior tearoom.
Dalham Hall Stud Tour
The town of Newmarket will resonate well with sports fans across the globe, thanks to its prestigious horse race.
