Castlerigg Stone Circle
Considered one of the very first stone circles to be discovered in England, Castlerigg is an incredibly unique megalithic land feature.
1.5 miles south east of Keswick, it is unsure what the origins of the stone circle is, but it has been proposed that it may have been used as a trading post.
Regardless, the area offers a 360-degree view over the fells, making for impressive viewing.
Furness Abbey
Visit the remains of the 1,000-year-old Furness Abbey founded by King Stephen of England. Once the second most-powerful and wealthiest Cistercian monastery in the country, this landmark is definitely worth your attention.
