Sadly Land Rover Stortford opted not to reply to my email… So for the avoidance of doubt, here is the email I sent them. I’d welcome LRBS to respond. If remedied I will remove this review. Dear all, I am writing to complain about the service that was received by my mum and I. The problems started on collection day when we took delivery of the car from you back in August 2025. Upon collection, we were met with a red AEB fault, which hadn’t been present on the test drives. I suggested to Amy Bucknell (who has since moved on) that we could delay collection until the issue had been fixed; however, we were told that it would be fixed under the sales warranty at a later date. The car was then returned for a diagnostic check, with Mum and me being told further tests would be needed. It would also be fair to mention that a scuff was present on the rear bumper, and the windscreen wipers hadn’t been replaced as agreed. Amy was able to get the bumper scuff fixed; however, after getting the car home, we found a spare wiper blade wedged between the window and the bonnet, hardly a premium service. Fast forward to last week (Friday 20th). We dropped the car off at 8:30 in the morning and were told the car would be ready to collect around 3 pm. At 1 pm, we were contacted to be told the collection would need to be delayed until 4 pm, which wasn’t an issue. We arrived at 3.30 pm to be greeted with a queue of very unhappy customers and a very disorganised service team. We waited for 5 pm before enquiring about the delay. The suggestion was that the car hadn’t been done, which quickly changed to “the car is being cleanedâ€. Roll on 6 pm, and we still don’t have a car back. We are then promoted for payment for further work for a diagnostic check (that was already done). I retrieved the sale paperwork, the proof of warranty and the extended warranty and said made it clear that legally this work was to be conducted under the sale warranty as the car wasn’t correct on collection. This is also backed up by the telematics onboard the car. It was also mentioned to us that the car would return valeted; however, it appeared just as dirty as when it was dropped off (if not more so). Again, not exactly a premium service. The lady who looked after us (who I won’t name as it really isn’t her fault) had no idea about the car, no idea about any active warranty and seemed genuinely upset that we had experienced what we had with Land Rover Bishops Stortford. Knowing how Land Rover works, I won’t be filling out the survey for her, as again, it wasn’t her fault in my eyes, as it’s clear the dealership lacks structure and training, in addition to a massive staff turnover. We were told that we would receive further written confirmation that the job would be completed at no cost to my mum. Sadly, this hasn’t arrived, and it feels like now you’ve got your money, you don’t care. Sadly, my faith in you guys to deliver has been shaken. I’ve made enquiries for another dealership in the Lookers network to pick up the work. The said garage has had to apologise on your behalf. In an ideal world, I would likely wish to rectify your errors; however, I really lack confidence in your ability to get the job done. The car is presently booked for 4 days in March (24th – 27th ). I would prefer not to go down any legal route, as I would hope this can be sorted out amicably; however, it’s fair to say we are far from happy.
