An Electric Vehicle (EV) or Battery Electric vehicle (BEV) is a car powered by only a battery. These cars have no other energy source and must be charged by plugging in at home to a wallbox or to a public charging station. From 2024 you will be able to choose from the first of six new all-electric Land Rovers. This is a significant step in our vision to dramatically reduce pollution and achieve a truly sustainable future.
Combines a petrol engine with an electric motor and a battery. Switch from pure electric commuting with zero tailpipe emissions, to a mix of petrol and electric power for lower emissions on longer journeys. A Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is charged from an external power supply and, using regenerative braking, seamlessly selects and blends the engine and electric motor to deliver optimum performance and efficiency. To charge the battery you would plug this car in, similar to an all electric vehicle.
A Land Rover plug-in hybrid is ideal if you have access to or can install a home or work charging point, and regularly drive short distances in urban areas.
Similar to the PHEV, MHEV is a mild hybrid system that harvests and stores energy normally lost during vehicle deceleration and intelligently redeploys it to assist the engine. It incorporates an enhanced stop start system that enables the engine to shutdown while the vehicle decelerates to a stop. These features improve vehicle fuel economy.
MHEV PETROL
A Land Rover petrol mild hybrid is ideal if you regularly drive short distances in urban areas and don’t have access to or are unable to install a home or work charging point.
MHEV DIESEL
A Land Rover diesel mild hybrid is ideal if you regularly drive long distances on motorways and want the ultimate in Land Rover towing capability.
