Vauxhall has revealed a new advert promoting the England football team, with cameos from fans of the sport and employees at the manufacturer’s Ellesmere Port plant.In the clip, which is available on YouTube, players including Wayne Rooney, Steven Gerrard and Joe Hart make appearances. People from across the UK line up in solidarity, including at the Angel of the North and along the Vauxhall production line, in anticipation of the team’s next win. The background music is based on the classical piece ‘Nimrod’ by British composer Sir Edward Elgar.
The ‘Stand Together’ campaign is part of Vauxhall’s sponsorship of Home Nations football in the UK, and is building awareness and excitement for this year’s World Cup in Brazil. The voiceover during the advert is a reminder that faith in the England football team is still strong, and encourages greater support for the squad during the tournament.
