Lookers are proud to be supporting The One Show’s Rickshaw Challenge for BBC Children in Need.
As a partner of BBC Children in Need, Lookers, which operates from 153 franchised motor dealerships across the UK, have already delivered some amazing fundraising events.
From running marathons, taking part in cycling competitions and delivering classic bake sales, Lookers people have been ‘doing their thing’ for the charity this year. Even customers are getting involved by taking part in customer initiatives that Lookers have organised across their dealerships.
This year, Team Rickshaw, which is made up of young people supported by BBC Children in Need funded projects, and presenter Matt Baker, will travel 500 miles from London to Glasgow over nine days.
To assist the team on their journey, Lookers will be providing a fleet of support vehicles, offering storage for important kit and equipment as well as much needed transport for all of the support teams along the way.
Lookers’ reputation as a reliable, community-based motor retailer means the cars provided will be of the best quality and comfort, ensuring all involved in the challenge arrive at each destination securely and safely.
The Volkswagen Crafter is the biggest vehicle being provided by Lookers, supported by the Ford Transit Van, Ford S-Max, Ford Tourneo Connect, Skoda Superb Estate and a selection of Audi vehicles.
Setting off from New Broadcasting House in London on Thursday 9th November, the riders will cycle north in a bid to reach Glasgow in time for the BBC Children in Need Appeal show on Friday 17th November. Along the way, the team is set to drop into a number of Lookers dealerships, which means that Lookers will be with the team every step of the way.
To further support BBC Children in Need, Lookers are giving customers the chance to win a car when they donate to the charity.
