ELECTRIC VEHICLE INCENTIVES

• Help with excise duties and registering your electric vehicle

As electricity is not considered to be a fuel, plug-in electric vehicles do not incur fuel duty for the electricity they use and are therefore exempt from VED.

• Help to buy electric vehicle charging equipment

The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) provides grant funding of up to 75% towards the cost of installing electric vehicle charge points at domestic properties across the UK. The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) is a voucher-based scheme that provides support towards the up-front costs of the purchase and installation of electric vehicle charge-points, for eligible businesses, charities and public sector organisations.

• Convenience and access

In some cities, electric vehicles are permitted to use high-occupancy vehicle lanes, without passengers, as well as bus lanes. You may also park in places where petrol or diesel vehicles are not permitted or can park at a lower cost.

• Reduced company car scheme taxes

Enhanced Capital Allowances (ECAs) - businesses that purchase cars which emit less than 75g/km CO2 (Jaguar I-PACE), zero emission goods vehicles, or ULEV recharging or refuelling infrastructure, are eligible for 100% first year allowance. Please consult your local retailer to find out more.

• Free charging for electric vehicles

Free charging facilities may be available while you are parked at shopping centres, hotels and other venues. This is referred to as destination charging. Others may offer reduced charging fees based on your time spent at the venue.

• Avoidance of tolls and charges

Where road use charges exist, it is sometimes the case that electric vehicles are exempt. And, of course, they will not be required to pay any emissions-based charges introduced for petrol or diesel cars for air quality reasons.

2% BIK Rate

In April 2020, the UK Government introduced a new scale to calculate company car tax rates based on the number of emission-free miles they can cover. Under this new mandate, our all‑electric zero emissions Jaguar I‑PACE will have only 2% in monthly BIK tax charges financial year 2022/23.

Zero VED (Vehicle Excise Duty)

Across the UK, Jaguar I‑PACE is exempt from the regular £140 road tax and any emissions-based charges, including the London Congestion Charge. In many cities, it is also permitted to use vehicle lanes and parking spaces where other vehicle access is restricted.
