The customer service at this garage is beyond appalling. If you value your sanity, don't buy from them. The service afterwards is shocking! If I could give 0 stars, I would!
If I could give 0 stars, I would! Very disappointing experience with this VW dealership. My car has been with them since last Thursday. We were originally told it would be fixed by Wednesday, then Thursday, and now it’s been pushed back again to next Tuesday due to them having the wrong tool. What’s most frustrating is that they knew earlier in the day there was an issue but only informed us right before closing, leaving us without a car and no time to make alternative arrangements. I am 18 and unable to hire a car, which makes the situation even more difficult, yet no real solution or support has been offered. When you buy a car from them, you’re told the service will be excellent, but in reality this experience has been the complete opposite. They have no problem taking your money when you purchase a car, but the level of aftersales service has been very poor. Communication has been poor throughout, and we’ve been repeatedly given timelines that haven’t been met. We were also told a senior manager wasn’t available, yet when we attended in person, a senior manager was clearly present. This added to the feeling that we weren’t being dealt with honestly. On top of this, a member of staff made an inappropriate comment about my dad’s appearance, saying he looked “ a state ,†which was completely unprofessional and unnecessary. We have effectively been left without a car for longer than agreed, with no clear solution offered, and feel we have little choice but to leave it with them while delays continue. Overall, a very frustrating and inconvenient experience. Based on this experience, I would advise others to avoid this dealership if you value good customer service.
I do not recommend Mercedes Maidstone at all! From looking at previous complaints, unfortunately it seems we aren’t the only ones to have difficulties with buying a car out of area. Me and my husband travelled over 2hrs to buy our Mercedes night edition GLB. As per my husband’s previous review, we had no issues purchasing the vehicle, but we soon realised once all documents have been signed, they want nothing to do with you! We have had multiple issues with the vehicle, one of which was just 3 weeks after purchasing it. Issues including apple car play not working (we cleaned the port, and changed the cable but had no luck), anti theft malfunction, malfunction see owners manual, front right indicator malfunction with the car intermittently going into limp mode. We contacted our local dealership to get a diagnostic test and repairs done originally on the first issue with the Apple car play not working, in which we were told by our local dealership after contacting Maidstone Mercedes themselves that they refused to cover the diagnostic fee and repairs. As you can imagine, owning this vehicle for only 3 weeks, we were utterly shocked and disgusted that they would not cover this. Since then, myself and my husband have tried to contact Mercedes Maidstone on multiple occasions ourselves to see why this is not covered, in which were told by multiple different members of staff that it would be covered and then it wouldn’t be. Seems as though communication and in house training needs to be provided. We then as you can imagine, got fed up with the service we were receiving so decided to put in a complaint to the sales manager, and lookers themselves. The sales manager is very condescending, and seems to pass the blame onto anyone else but themselves. He stated that we had not contacted Maidstone Mercedes in the first instance in regards to our diagnostic fee and repairs being covered by them. This is incorrect, I have email confirmation from our local dealership stating when and who they discussed this issue with, and that Maidstone Mercedes confirmed they WOULD NOT cover this. Due to ongoing multiple issues since, we want to return the vehicle, in which the sales manager declined our rejection of the vehicle due to the Apple car play feature not being a suitable reason to return the vehicle even though this issue was raised within the first 30 days of having the vehicle.The car was advertised as having a working Apple car play feature, and this is not the case. We were told by the sales manager that he doesn’t know what I am saying is correct, insinuating I am lying about the problem, and that the issue could be a “user error†and may need a system update. I’m in my twenties, and know how to use Apple car play, and had undertaken a system update myself, again with no luck. When we first brought the car, we were over the moon and looked past some minor problems such as the car not exactly being the cleanest, as well as having to ask them to put fuel in the car, knowing full well how far we have travelled and being out of area. Please do not buy from this dealership. It is one of the worst things we have done, and have learnt our lesson buying from out of area - something we have NEVER had a problem with before.
We purchased our car today from Charles Hurst Toyota and had an excellent experience from start to finish. We were looked after by Josh, who truly went above and beyond for us. From the moment we arrived, he was professional, friendly, and incredibly helpful. Nothing was too much trouble, and he made the whole process feel easy and stress-free. He took the time to answer all of our questions and made sure we were completely comfortable and happy with everything before leaving. Josh is a real credit to the team at Charles Hurst Toyota. We couldn’t have asked for better service and are absolutely delighted with our new car. Highly recommend!
I received a phone call from Lee Larkin (salesman) at the beginning of March, to let me know VW was having a sales promotion during this month and was I interested in changing my current vehicle, following our conversation I made an appointment to visit Lookers at Northallerton. Subsequently I traded in my vehicle for a new Golf MK8 GTI, this is the third car I have bought from Lookers Northallerton, Lee has always provided excellent customer service and support and any questions or concerns I have had, Lee is always available, either by phone or email. On the day of collection the handover went seamlessly together with watching a video of the ‘active cruse control’ and downloaded the new VW app and the services it provides. Lee then went through the controls of the car and the new updated information screen in the car. My overall experience is five star and would not hesitate recommending Lookers Northallerton to family and friends.
My mum and I have bought from Mercedes Ashford this week and dealt with Riley who I honestly cannot fault. He is amazing! On the ball, friendly, I trusted him and that’s a big thing for me to say so thank you Riley. We love the car!
