Exterior styling
A feast for the eyes, the muscular structure of the Audi RS 5 features a range of innovative details. A wider and flatter single-frame grille and large symmetrical air inlets frame the front while quattro blisters on the flanks emphasise the wheel arches. At the rear, dual oval tailpipes create an almighty roar, and the extending spoiler offers an eye-catching, yet aerodynamic edge.
Interior styling
The interior continues to build upon the athletic theme, with front RS sport seats in Fine Nappa leather providing the main attraction. Bathed in black, the interior uses red accents throughout to highlight features such as the flat-bottomed multifunction sport steering wheel, selector lever and seatbelts. The RS logo is prominently displayed on the seats, steering wheel, door sill trims and selector lever to further reinforce the vehicle's sport credentials.
Quattro technology
At the heart of this modern roadster lies an all-new 2.9 TFSI biturbo engine that produces 450hp and delivers 600Nm of torque. This new engine has been developed from the ground up and offers a sharp increase in power and efficiency as well as an unmistakable full-bodied RS sound. This power, which flows through an eight-speed tiptronic with optimised shift times to the quattro permanent all-wheel drive, allows it to accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 3.9 seconds. With the standard RS sport suspension the new Audi RS 5 Coupé sits much lower than the production model. RS sport suspension with Dynamic Ride Control, ceramic brakes and dynamic steering with RS-specific tuning is also available.
Technology
A range of infotainment technology is available to the driver and passengers including optional MMI navigation plus with MMI touch, wifi hotspot via Audi Connect and Audi smartphone interface. The driver can also take advantage of Audi virtual cockpit, optional head-up display as well as up to 30 driver assistance systems that enhance safety, comfort and efficiency.
Sport Edition
Unveiled in June 2019, the Audi RS 5 Coupe Sport Edition will also join the RS line-up.
The Sport Edition is the only RS 5 model to reach the UK in 2019, with only 250 units being built.
It's powered by the same 2.9-litre V6, but throws in uprated 20-inch alloys, a panoramic sunroof, adaptive dampers and Audi's sport exhaust as standard.
