The rescheduled Alloa Round Table Half Marathon is taking place on Sunday 3 June 2018 and this year it will be led by Stirling Audi who are proud to be race sponsors and supply the timing car for the race.
Over 3,500 runners are signed up for this year race and places are still available for any serious or fun runners who are looking to kick start their summer in style and burn off a few extra calories for good measure.
Staff at Stirling Audi are taking up the opportunity to run the Alloa half and training has already begun with staff running most weeks after work to build their speed and distance up. Although staff are local, none of the runners have taken part in this race which is now in its 37th year.
Race Director John O’Malley “It is fantastic that we have developed and grown the Alloa Half Marathon and we are obtaining support from some fantastic local businesses which includes Stirling Audi, Highland Spring, Marshal Construction, Wasp Leisure, Inglewood House and Spa, Machin + McFarlane and Dunn, Police Scotland, Energy Assets, Lithium IT, Party People and the Alloa Town Centre BID.I’d like to thank these fantastic organisations for their support and highlight that all the money raised from the event is used to support local good causes”,
Mary Bell Head of Business at Stirling Audi “We were pleased to be approached to take part in this year’s Alloa Half Marathon. Stirling Audi is keen supporters of local community groups and events and at a national level through the Lookers Group we have been involved with this year’s Children In Need. I have five members of staff taking part in this year’s race which I’m sure will be well run and organised by the Alloa Round Table”.
The race was rescheduled from March 2018 this year due to snow – the first time in its history that the race has been cancelled. For more information regarding the race or to sign up, please visit http://www.alloahalfmarathon.co.uk/
