In this week’s guest blog, Grant, from Waiting for the Postman, took a Range Rover Plug in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) out for a spin. As it was his first time driving an electric car, he wasn’t sure what to expect, but the staff at Taggarts Land Rover in Glasgow put his mind at ease and he was soon on the open road in the sturdy SUV.
He was struck by the spaciousness, with a large boot and plenty of room for two car seats in the back. So, all packed up, with the kids in the back, he set off and was immediately impressed, describing driving the car as ‘an amazing experience.’
The tech in the vehicle was a winner, with the detailed dashboard and media centre offering a range of driver assistance and displaying how much charge remained. The children particularly loved the full-length sun-roof! Plus, the combination of an advanced 2.0 litre, 300 bhp petrol engine with a high capacity 85kW electric motor offered an extra level of reliability to the journey.
Grant recommends the car to families and says it’s a great choice for the school run as you will ‘find significant savings in only using the electric options.’
