Very disappointing experience with Lookers Land Rover Aylesbury. I booked a security update for my Range Rover Evoque through the JLR online booking system several days in advance. I subsequently received an email confirming the appointment for 6 October 2026 at 10:00, including the wording that my booking was “not too far away†and that their technicians were looking forward to receiving my vehicle. Because I had received this clear confirmation, I specifically arranged to work from home on 6 October so that I could attend the appointment. However, on the evening of 5 October, less than a day before the confirmed appointment, I received a call from the showroom telling me that they could not accommodate the booking and that the only appointment available was 11 November. When I asked how the JLR online system could confirm an appointment that the dealership apparently did not have available, I was simply told that the system was the responsibility of “JLR UK†and that the showroom did not know anything about it. I then asked how I could make a complaint and requested a telephone number, email address or some other contact information. Instead of trying to assist me, I was repeatedly told only “JLR UK.†I found the response dismissive and unhelpful, particularly when the problem had already caused me to rearrange my working day. I eventually told them to cancel the appointment because I would make a complaint and consider booking elsewhere. What was even more frustrating was the email I received afterwards. It stated: “Thank you for contacting us to amend your booking†and confirmed a “revised†appointment for 11 November 2026 at 09:00. That is not an accurate description of what happened. I did not contact the dealership asking to amend my appointment. The dealership contacted me because they could not honour an appointment that had already been confirmed. This distinction matters. The email makes it appear that the customer requested the change, when in reality I had arranged my work commitments around the original confirmed appointment and was then told at very short notice that it could not be honoured. Unfortunately, this is also not the first time I have experienced booking problems like this — it is now the third time. For a premium brand such as Jaguar Land Rover, I would expect the online booking system and the dealership’s actual availability to be properly coordinated. If an appointment is confirmed in writing, customers should reasonably be able to rely on that confirmation. Problems can happen, but the way they are handled matters. In this case there was a last-minute disruption, no satisfactory explanation, very little assistance when I asked how to complain, and then an email that incorrectly suggested that I had requested the amendment. Overall, a very frustrating and disappointing customer service experience.
Week 7 without my car. This is my first experience with range Rover as a brand and at Land Rover Bishop’s Stortford unfortunately a very disappointing one. Had an excellent sales experience with Andreas, Mo and Omar who have all now left the business which does not surprise me at all as it seems like there’s a lot of disorganisations at the top and with the after sales team. If you carry some sort of self-respect do not purchase a car from here. I purchased a Range Rover Velar from the dealership and, only 8 days after purchasing it, the engine management light came on. I was then advised that there was an EGR-related issue and the whole housing compartment needed changing. Harrys communication as a service manager is awful, no updates on what has been done on the car and the progress. He even tried taking the courtesy car of me and make me pay for an enterprise car when the dealership was the one who sold me a faulty vehicle initially. I understand there’s a serious back log of work but if I was given clear communication I would not even be here writing this review. Things happen and I get it but at least keep me updated on what’s going on and progress. Because of the problems with the vehicle, I arranged an independent inspection. This identified several additional concerns, including an oil leak a, corroded/poor-condition front brake discs, brake judder and shaking when braking, DPF/pressure and EGR issues, ABS/brake booster concerns, low coolant and tyre wear. Don’t understand how they are getting away with selling premium cars like this as a reputable dealership. I am particularly disappointed that these issues were not identified during the pre-sale/165-point checks that they apparently do. Since people don’t really by land rovers as much, I guess they are trying to get rid of their stock quick, but they cause more of a headache for themselves when they don’t bother selling cars in good condition or check them properly. Oil leaks could have caused a fire on my car... My vehicle has now been with the dealership since 20 August, meaning I have been without my own car for around 6 weeks. I was expecting the vehicle to be returned, but the repair has continued to be delayed because of a required part being on back order. I tried rejecting the vehicle, but the dealer was hesitant to do this and refund me my 20k depo and offered to fix the car. They also forgot to cc me out of an email chain that states they can’t afford any more rejections as a dealership. very professional, isn’t it? What has made the situation even more frustrating is the communication and the amount of time it has taken to properly diagnose and progress the vehicle. I have had to take time away from work, arrange independent inspections and deal with repeated communication regarding the car. This has caused me a significant amount of stress and disruption, and I have now had to escalate the matter directly to Jaguar Land Rover Customer Services and the finance company who are directly communicating with them now. I expected a much higher standard of preparation, communication and customer service from a premium brand. I hope the dealership and Jaguar Land Rover take the concerns raised seriously and use this experience to improve how similar situations are handled in future, this dealership has several similar reviews.
Customer service standards at Lookers Colchester JLR are woeful, especially for a so called premium brand. My recall work was cancelled by the service department at 4pm on the day before the car was due in, it had been deliberately booked a month in advance by us to fit around holidays and other diary dates. The excuse from Lookers was that the courtesy car was not available as apparently the previous user wasn’t answering their phone to confirm the car would be returned and therefore available for us to use. The service advisor was argumentative on the phone telling me that they could book the car in on another day and carry out the recall work in 2.5 hours and while I waited, this was in spite of previously being told they would need the car for a whole day hence the reason why I had requested a courtesy car in the first place. Having recall work carried out is already inconvenient so why should I be further inconvenienced by having to sit and wait in service reception for 2.5 hours while the work is carried out ! I didn't have my diary with me and was driving at the time of the call, but they just went on and on badgering me to re-book any date and cancel later if it was inconvenient, frustrated I ended the call and told them I wasn’t impressed and asked for the service manager to give me a call. I’ve since tried twice to speak with the deputy service manager but they are always mysteriously unavailable or in meetings, I’ve requested call backs on both occasions but they obviously don't value their customers and can’t be bothered to speak with me. Anyway the car is now booked in with another JLR dealer who treat their customers with far more respect. This isn’t the first time I’ve had problems at Lookers Land Rover Colchester, I had originally been looking to purchase a new car here as it was local, I had been discussing the options and booked a test drive with the sales advisor, on the day of the pre-booked test drive and only upon arrival at the dealer, I was told that they were really sorry but the vehicle was unavailable, I told them that this was just totally unprofessional and walked out on the spot. I subsequently purchased a car at another JLR dealer.
I have just collected my new Range Rover sport from Lookers Land Rover in Buckinghamshire and from start to finish have had a fantastic and very professional experience. The salesman i dealt with ‘Colin Giddens’ was absolutely brilliant and an absolute credit to the dealership. On collection, I was greeted with some beautiful flowers and some lovely gifts which I thought was a lovely touch. This is the 5th car I have brought from Colin and I will certainly be back again when I next buy another car.. I wouldn’t go anywhere else! Ive driven away very happy and would highly recommend this dealership.
Buying an approved used discovery from this dealership could quite possibly be the worst buying experience iv ever had. It went down hill when i discovered the car they had sold me had previous hidden accident history, i was told I was not entitled to a refund without letting them rectify it and and where in no hurry to do so, after 2 weeks they finnaly took it back in to complete this, and a list of other works including faulty wiper blades that should not have passed the MOT they put on the vehicle. They life me over 2 weeks without a car and whilst the car was with them they carried out a “complementary health check†where they told me the car needed new break discs due to “severe corrosion and lipping†not even 2 weeks after selling me the car and wanted three thousand pounds to carry out this work … Fast forward 2 weeks I have now collected the car to find a poor paint repair to the front bumper, and the wiper blades that where litterwly hanging off are still fitted to the vehicle despite giving me paperwork that says they where replaced. Overall I would not recommend using this dealership. Long wait times for repairs and uninterested staff. The only one person I dealt with at this dealership was the service advisor Harry, I will give credit where it is due he was very pleasant to deal with and understood my concerns however the rest of this branch have let him and me down
Great experience part exchanging and buying a new Range Rover Velar. Evie was on hand to lead us through the entire process effortlessly, and was excellent. I've contacted her recently regarding some paperwork, for which she replied immediately and sorted. First-rate service.
My experience has been far from great, I’ve had a terrible experience for the last 4 weeks with Lookers Land Rover in Bishop's Stortford. I took my Jaguar in for an electrical fault with the rear door not unlocking at times. After carrying out a diagnostic & finding the fault Harry called me to tell me the job was complete. Within an hour I realised they had created a worse issue with the child lock no longer working, called Harry first thing the following day to report the issue and I returned back to Lookers to show them the issue. With a 3 year old and a 10 year old i've tried to stress the importance of how dangerous this is, as my 3 year old can open the door whilst i'm driving. I’ve called several times and Harry has failed to book me in and provide me with a courtesy car with no attempt to call me back or prioritise my needs as a customer. Shocking customer service, very disappointed as i shouldn't have to go through so much stress for an issues that they caused. Avoid this branch for your service/ repairs. Very unprofessional, i'm going to raise this issue higher as the safety issue present affects my children safety!!.
The service form this dealership is atrocious at best - we’ve had 3 windscreens replaced so far but it still showers INSIDE! Their ingenious repair to this has been to gaffer tape the entire roof ! This gaffer tape has been on the roof now for nearly a month and I have received ZERO communication from Lookers. Last week I finally got in contact and after a lot of backward and forwards with excuses such as ‘it’s normal to gaffer tape cars’ (really!?) and ‘we have a paint shop if there’s any damage’ they reluctantly agreed to take the car and give me a courtesy car as because of said tape it sounds like there’s a bee hive on the roof when driving over 40MPH which effectively renders the car useless. Today a car was supposed to be collection of said mobile bee hive and deliver of courtesy car 9am. No surprise that it’s not here. No surprise that I had to call Sales in order to get through to the service department who all appear to be in undisturable meetings. No one seems to have a clue what is happening. This dealership is frankly a shambles - how on earth it’s still in business is beyond me and the GM needs to get his act together because I would NEVER buy a car from LOOKERS again if they were the last dealership in the UK. BUYER BEWARE!!!!
