Exterior features
The Shooting Brake has a longer, wider body than its coupé counterpart, though it shares the 19-inch AMG spoked alloy wheel design and the front and rear aprons. The face of the car is purposeful, styled with LED headlights which incorporate bright daytime running lights. At the rear, the “Easy Pack” automatic powered tailgate enables simpler loading and unloading.
Interior features
Bolstered sports seats in the front are finished in durable leather with a contrast stitch. The front seats are also heated for added comfort on colder days. Brushed stainless steel pedals with rubber studs give the driver's position the atmosphere of a race car's cockpit. In the rear of the cabin, the split folding seats can create as much as 1,550 litres of load space.
AMG Line is the sole equipment level for the CLS Shooting Brake, and a special Mercedes-AMG version of the car is also available. When you make the car your own, you enjoy speed-sensitive power steering, Thermatic automatic two-zone climate control, one-press full electric windows and a trip computer on a 4.3-inch TFT display.
Performance and efficiency
The engine selection for the Shooting Brake comprises a turbocharged 177bhp diesel option and a potent diesel V6 at 258bhp. They generate 400Nm and 620Nm of torque respectively, guaranteeing a 0-60mph time of no more than nine seconds.
Such strong force from the engines is tempered by the efficiency they can deliver. A Diesel Particulate Filter reduces CO2 emissions from the twin rectangle-shaped exhaust pipes. With combined fuel economy peaking at 56.5mpg, getting from A to B is always economical.
Safety and technology
Alongside the Shooting Brake's strong performance and premium quality, the safety level is just as high. Attention Assist works behind the scenes to monitor driver fatigue levels on longer journeys, and adaptive brake assist activates the brake lights automatically. Around the cabin, the positioning of the dual-stage airbags cushions you from all angles.
