Lookers Mercedes-Benz Fleet Department (Business Solutions) has made some significant capital gains after securing an order for 100 new E-Class Saloons from private hire giant Addison Lee.
The company, which operates London’s largest executive fleet of cars, has acquired the new Mercedes-Benz E-Class models to meet the demand for its prestige services.
Last year Addison Lee saw a 15 per cent rise in executive car bookings and the E-Class will be used to serve and expand this sector.
The tenth-generation of this renowned model takes business travel to new heights with a raft of innovations in the areas of driver assistance, infotainment and control systems complementing the debut of ground-breaking engine technology.
Amongst the highlights of the state-of-the-art Saloon is DRIVE PILOT which actively keeps the car safely in its lane even if there are no road markings. The system can also identify and adapt to speed limits based on camera and navigation information.
Lavishly equipped, luxuriously styled and delivering smooth ride comfort, Addison Lee were impressed by the refinement that the E-Class offered both passengers and drivers as well as the car’s formidable fuel economy. The E 220 d, one of the two models available from launch, returns up to 72.4mpg (combined) and 102g/km of CO2 for a 13 per cent improvement in fuel consumption and emissions.
