Volkswagen recently held an anniversary event to mark 40 years of the Volkswagen Golf GTI. The special event was attended by 85 GTI owners and one of our customers was lucky enough to attend, courtesy of Lookers Volkswagen Battersea. Attendees of the event were treated to the very first example of the already sold-out Golf GTI Clubsport S to be seen in the UK. 150 of the right-hand drive form have been earmarked for UK customers and sold out within weeks of its announcement.
We didn't want Mr Foyle, a Battersea customer and Golf GTI enthusiast to miss this special occasion so we lent him our Golf GTI for the weekend so he could attend. Mr Foyle will collect his very own Golf soon - the Limited Edition VW Golf GTI Clubsport S, due to arrive in November.
The Golf GTI Clubsport S may be sold out but the special anniversary model Golf GTI Clubsport Edition 40 is now open for order.
