The famous Tyneside football club, Wallsend Boys Club have been invited to take part in the world renowned international youth football tournament in Northern Ireland. The club, which began the careers of the likes of Alan Shearer and Peter Beardsley, are sending their undefeated Under 15’s team to the competition next month.
Formerly known as the Milk Cup, the 38th Statsports SuperCupNI has played host to a number of world renowned football stars over the years, including Peter Crouch, Wayne Rooney and current England captain Harry Kane.
The teams at Wallsend have received sponsorship funding from Lookers Volkswagen Newcastle Silverlink for yet another season, after multiple wins at the club. As part of the sponsorship, the teams will be sporting football tops branded with the Lookers Volkswagen logo (pictured above), with the competition being a high profile event and good platform for the brand.
In response to the club’s recent news, Simon Milne, General Manager at Lookers Volkswagen Newcastle Silverlink, said: “I am delighted with the team’s performance, this has never been achieved at the club or in any of the leagues the club compete in, to now go on and have the opportunity to play against the likes of Manchester United makes me and the team feel very proud.”
