Leading automotive website Auto Trader has revealed the fastest selling cars in the UK in May. As part of their monthly series into the fastest selling cars they have revealed the latest figures which show that the Nissan Qashqai is again a popular choice for British drivers. Mercedes-Benz was also riding high taking five of the ten spots in the national top ten. The Citroen C1 was the choice of car for those in Yorkshire and the East Midlands while the Fiat 500 came out on top in Scotland and Northern Ireland. The table also showed that drivers in Scotland were the quickest when it came to the days took to sell a car with an average of 14 days, whilst drivers in Northern Ireland took up to 35 days.
Auto Trader began publishing the fastest selling cars table in March this year, and plan to continue these reports which give a good indication of what cars are selling well in both national and regional leagues.
Karolina Edwards-Smajda Auto Trader Trade Solutions Director said of the latest figures: “In the three months since Auto Trader started publishing these figures, models in the top ten have consistently aligned closely to their optimal retail price position,” That should resonate with every dealer because the same principle applies to each car on a forecourt. If you want to sell quickly, price to the retail market - that’s the market as it is now, not as some might suggest it could, should or might be.
