Lookers Land Rover in Colchester is set to move to a larger, purpose-built site in 2017.
After 20 years of being based in Cowdray Avenue, the dealership prepares to move to a 10,500 square metre site off Axial Way.
The expansion comes after an increase in sales over recent years and the need to move to larger premises. The new development will also create 51 staff positions in the larger site which will include a purpose built showroom and workshop, sales areas, staff facilities along with 201 parking spaces.
The new showroom will be built near to existing Volkswagen and Toyota dealerships, near to junction 28 of the A12.
Martin Shepherd, head of Business at Land Rover Colchester said: "From our point of view, it is a growing area, there are already a couple of car dealerships up there and with the plans there for the new cinema complex and restaurants, David Lloyd leisure centre, along with access to the A12, it is the ideal location.
He added: "Land Rover has grown immensely in popularity over the last two years.
"Our sales are surging ahead and as such we have outgrown the premises."
The plans for the new dealership development are currently in the application process with Colchester Council with a decision expected to be made in the next few months.
