The 2000 mile Lookers Electric Charge has hit the West Midlands in style, with staff doffing their caps dressed as characters from Peaky Blinders.
The carbon-neutral challenge, in aid of motor industry charity Ben, has seen a relay of electric and hybrid vehicles travel the UK, since we kicked it off back in May in Dublin. The Electric Charge has visited destinations including all 154 of our dealerships and has travelled through Northern Ireland, Scotland, the North East, Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and Merseyside before reaching its West Midlands leg last week…phew, we have been busy!
Our lovely Lookers people have been working hard delivering bake sales and raffles to raise money for the automotive charity and we’ve seen staff drive their electric vehicles dressed as everything from Batman and Robin, in Mercedes-Benz Wolverhampton, to Hawaiian Hula Girls at Knights BMW and MINI Stafford.
However, it was Vauxhall Star City and Mercedes Benz of Walsall that played host to members of the Shelby crime family, who were very impressed with the electric vehicle offering. See more of Peaky Blinders at Vauxhall Star City below:
The Lookers Electric Charge will now make its way to its final stages in Surrey, Greater London and the South Coast, including visits to the Electrification Centre of Excellence at the Jaguar Visitor Centre in Castle Bromwich and Ford’s iconic factory in Dagenham.
Lookers CEO Andy Bruce said: “Ben is a fantastic charity that does so much to support those people in the motor industry that are in need, so it’s great to be able to give back in this way.” To hear more from Andy Bruce, check out the video below:
