Young motorcyclist Corey-Jay Christopher Hull is looking to take the world of motocross by storm after Lookers provided the support he needs to compete in the British Youth National Championships.
Corey, 8, received sponsorship funding from Lookers Volkswagen Blackburn after impressing in a number of competitions last year, including coming 5th in his local club championships and 3rd in the MX90 championships.
Corey, who rides a 2017 ktm 50sxs motocross bike, started racing in 2016 and it didn’t take long for him to become competitive, with the youngster maintaining his position in the top 10 for his age group right through 2017.
This year he is aiming to finish in the top 6 of the British Youth National Championships in order to gain a British title.
As part of the sponsorship, Corey will feature the Lookers logo on his bike and race vests.
Corey said: “The support I now have from Lookers will allow me to compete in the British Youth National Championships as well as other big motocross competitons. It’s my dream to become a professional motocross racer when I’m older and the support I have from Lookers will definitely help me work towards that.”
The sponsorship is part of Lookers’ community sponsorship programme, which has seen it support a range of local sporting initiatives, including Lookers Volkswagen Van Centre Darnley sponsoring Glasgow’s only professional ice hockey club, The Braehead Clan, and Lookers Kia Stockport becoming a sponsor of Stockport County F.C.
Paul Atkinson, General Manager at Lookers Volkswagen Blackburn, said: “We are proud to be supporting such a young talent and look forward to tracking his journey up the ranks. Corey is still very young, but it’s obvious that he has a natural talent and we wish him all the luck in the world.”
