Lookers Mercedes-Benz Kent has been awarded the coveted Mercedes-Benz Retailer of the Year 2017 award at a glittering award ceremony which celebrated a record breaking year for the Mercedes-Benz brand in the UK.
The Mercedes-Benz Retailer of the Year awards were held at the O2, London, and were hosted by television personality and X Factor host Dermot O’Leary.
At the awards ceremony night Marcus Breitschwerdt, Head of Region Europe for Mercedes Benz, and Gary Savage, CEO of Mercedes-Benz UK, presented the grand prize to the Lookers team in front of a 1,200 strong audience who were also gathered to celebrate record new car sales for Mercedes-Benz.
Despite a challenging and competitive marketplace, Lookers Mercedes-Benz Kent, which operates from dealerships in Maidstone, Tonbridge, Ashford and Canterbury, saw an astonishing increase of 14.4% in the sale of new cars in 2017, with similar double digit growth in the sale of used cars.
The judges were also impressed by an 8% growth in aftersales at Lookers Mercedes-Benz Kent, as well as its efforts in achieving the highest level of customer retention and satisfaction in the UK.
The figures form part of a larger success story for Mercedes-Benz, which has reported record global sales for 2017, while record sales in the UK last year saw 179,000 Mercedes-Benz cars registered, representing a 7% market share, making it the number one premium manufacturer.
It’s not the first time that Lookers have been acknowledged at the awards, with Lookers smart of Brighton winning smart Retailer of the Year 2016.
