The Lookers Electric Charge has passed on the baton through Yorkshire and the North West. The carbon-neutral, 2,000-mile relay sees a range of electric cars make their way across the UK and Ireland to raise money for motor charity Ben.
The North East gave us some entertaining journeys, with Yorkshire and the North West continuing to have some laughs while raising money for a great cause.
Feast your eyes on these carpool karaoke, danceoke and creative costume surprises from each leg of the relay…
It was time for a remix at Lookers Ford Guiseley, with the team putting their own spin on the original pop hit Electric Avenue with their own dubstep version of the song.
While at Nissan Leeds, it was back to the original version, with the team coming together to sing the well-known and catchy chorus.
Lookers Ford Harrogate donned electric neon fancy dress outfits and visited their REAL-LIFE local Electric Avenue for a photoshoot.
With England very much still in the World Cup during the Charge’s visit to Ford Sheffield, its team proudly showed their support, while Ford York Road dipped into the fancy dress box for an afternoon of themed fun.
Stockport Kia hopped into their go-kart for the day as Mario and Luigi and Lookers Stockport Volvo pulled off Oasis hairstyles in wigs they’d chopped down to size, whilst singing ‘She’s Electric’ by the band.
It was a Who’s Who of the bizarre kind at Lookers SEAT, with Zippy, sumo wrestlers and cheerleaders all turning up.
Lookers Stockport Renault also put their own twist on the Electric Charge, flipping the lyrics of Electric Avenue with clever Star Wars quotes and quips while dressed up as characters from the trilogy.
Manchester Head Office charged up the urban VW e-Golf with carpool danceoke, as well as dressing up as characters with electric powers or those reflecting the environmental aspects of the challenge. Enjoying a Summer barbecue were The Ninja Turtles, The Powerpuff Girls and Bill and Ben the Flowerpot Men. The team also tracked down Lucky in an office scavenger hunt and scored their fundraising goals in a penalty-shootout. Some of our senior directors also got in the spirit of the challenge by auctioning off their time, which helped raise over £2,000 on the day.
Over at Vauxhall Ellesmere Port, superheroes saved the day and the Teletubbies delivered their rendition of Electric Avenue at Vauxhall St. Helens.
Ice-creams, cakes and cookies were on sale throughout the whole day during Vauxhall Liverpool’s classic car display. Retro models included a Cavalier, Calibra and Corsa.
