Dacia is expected to launch a high-performance Sandero RS outside of Europe, with a release date pencilled in during 2015.
A brand fan created an imaginative concept image for the model in Photoshop several months ago, before it was formally announced. French graphic designer Khalil created an impressively realistic mock-up of how the RS might eventually look, with the trademark Dacia grille and subtly sportier body shape.
The real car is being developed by umbrella manufacturer Renault, through their dedicated Renaultsport division. The company confirmed the vehicle prior to the recent Moscow Motor Show.
It's part of a key push to support the motorsport brand's rising popularity in markets including Brazil and Russia. In these countries, the Dacia cars are sold with Renault's badging and a selection of power systems.
In an interesting move, the RS will apparently be powered by a brand new engine, one not currently available with any other Dacia vehicle. The most potent version offered to Russian drivers is a 1.6-litre engine delivering 101bhp, so the new Sandero model should exceed this comfortably.
The Dacia Sandero RS is not anticipated for a UK release, yet drivers can be just as satisfied with a new Sandero or Sandero Stepway from Lookers. Take a test drive in any current model from one of our Dacia dealerships in Chester, Colchester and Stockport.
