After being on the market for only two months the new Ford Mondeo has picked up yet another top industry award. The Mondeo was named 'Best Family Car' at the UK Car of the Year Awards beating off some stiff competition from the likes of the BMW. The UK Car of the Year Awards are decided by a panel of expert Motoring Journalist from national newspapers, industry magazines, websites and TV. The Ford Mondeo was also recently named What Cars 'Estate Car of the Year, only one month after it went on sale.
The judges awarded the Mondeo the family car award due to its advanced technologies such as Active Park Assist, and Dynamic LED headlights. John Challen head of the UKCOTY Awards said of the Mondeo : “One of the most eagerly-awaited cars of the year does not disappoint. Great levels of equipment and technology, a sensible cockpit layout, and – as is the case with almost every Ford – a joy to drive."
The new Ford Mondeo went on sale in the UK in December last year and has so far seen more 11,000 sales. The Mondeo features Ford's acclaimed urbo-charged 1.0-litre EcoBoost 125PS engine, high-power 210PS bi-turbo 2.0-litre TDCi diesel and 187PS petrol-electric hybrid.
