What is Motability?

More background on what the Motability Scheme is and how it works.

The Motability Scheme helps disabled people keep on the move, by exchanging mobility allowance for a lease agreement on a new car.

Vehicles available on the scheme can also be modified to match each customer's requirements, and monthly payments include insurance, road tax and repairs, making it even easier to manage.

Customers don't need to be able to drive either - up to two carers or relatives can be named on the agreement, to help with attending appointments and getting about.

These leases run for three years, after which the customer can upgrade to a new car for another three.
