Safety
The Leon Estate provides a series of active safety systems that work together to be one step ahead of any potential mishap:
-
Pedestrian Protection - Senses if someone is crossing in front of the vehicle and alerts you with an acoustic and a visual signal before automatically applying the brakes.
-
Traffic Jam Assist - There is now one more reason to love your car even when in a traffic jam. The new SEAT Leon calculates the distance to the other vehicles and regulates the acceleration and deceleration while keeping in your lane.
-
Emergency Assist - Always in time. This system analyses the driver’s movements and when it detects that there’s no reaction, it will gently shake the car using mild braking, reduce speed and will even correct the steering until the driver resumes control. It also activates the hazzard lights to warn other drivers.
-
Cornering Lights - The intelligent cornering function of the fog lamps enables safer driving. At a difficult junction, the fog lamps illuminate the space where the driver is about to turn. It is also very useful for parking manoeuvres in the dark, during which there is a risk of damaging the bodywork or “kerbing” the wheels. The fog lamp also illuminates the space beside the vehicle during U-turns.
-
Traffic Sign Recognition System - Thanks to various sensors that are synchronised with the front camera, it detects speed limits, overtaking restrictions and road works before you even reach them.
-
Lane Assist - Detects if you are about to leave your lane and gently corrects the steering of the car.
-
Tiredness Recognition - The Tiredness Recognition Detector analyses the wheel movements and driver performance to assess whether or not there is fatigue. If the system detects a strange movement it will recommend you take a nice break.
-
Adaptive Cruise Control - The ACC system measures the distance, direction and speed of the vehicles driving in front of you. It adapts your speed to theirs and maintains a safe distance at all times.
-
High Beam Assist - Automatically changes from high beam to low when another vehicle is detected to avoid bothering anyone. It also regulates the lights based on the visibility of the road.
-
Stop & Go - The Stop and Go feature will turn off the engine when your car is stationary.
