Thursday 9th February saw the Mercedes-Benz annual Retailer of the Year Awards ceremony hosted by Dermot O’Leary and ‘All Black’ rugby legend Sean Fitzpatrick at the 02 London.
The event was attended by Mercedes-Benz UK CEO, Gary Savage, Marcus Breitschwerdt (head of Mercedes-Benz cars Europe) as well as Andy Bruce (CEO of Lookers plc).
There were five awards up for grabs which included:
Aftersales & Parts Retailer of the Year
smart Retailer of the Year
Customer Service Team of the Year
Sales Team of the Year
Mercedes-Benz Retailer of the Year
Lookers were nominated for three of the five awards and walked away with the coveted smart Retailer of the Year Award - against fierce competition.
The glass and metal trophy was collected by Andy Bruce (Lookers plc CEO) and David Currin (Divisional Sales Director).
They were joined on stage by Sukh Khatkar (Divisional Finance Controller), Lorraine Ali (Divisional Business Development Centre Manager), Nigel Barber (Divisional Corporate Sales Director) and Graeme Dengate (Divisional Regional Sales Manager).
This is a testament to the focus and investment that Lookers plc has put on the Brighton ‘stand-alone’ smart retailer – the only one in the UK - and that confidence has paid off.
The team at Brighton and Gatwick smart were very pleased with the accolade and were congratulated by David Currin the following day when he presented the award to Dan Pallant (smart Divisional Sales Manager) and Shaun Bosley (smart Brighton sales manager).
Brighton and Gatwick smart manage to encapsulate the fun of the smart brand in a professional and customer-friendly way, making buying and owning a smart as enjoyable as driving one.
