This past Monday (8th May) saw the annual ‘Chris Davies Cup’ take place between Lookers Birkenhead and Lookers Ellesmere Port.
The football match, contested annually between the two dealerships, was set up in memory of our late Birkenhead sales colleague, Chris Davies, to help raise money for two charities which were close to Chris’ heart – The Soldiers' Charity and Help for Heroes.
Taking place on the hallowed turf of Prenton Park, home of Lookers Vauxhall’s long-stranding partners, Tranmere Rovers, Ellesmere Port was looking to exact revenge for their 4-2 loss last year.
Exact revenge they did. Despite being a closely fought contest, Ellesmere Port managed to see the match out by four goals to three - with a little help from a few colleagues from Lookers Deeside.
The match was a huge success. Not only did all taking part, and in attendance, have a great day, but the match also managed to raise over £300 for Chris’ preferred charities.
A huge thank you must go to everyone involved in the match, magnificent effort from all involved. However, a special recognition must go to our Sales Consultant, Ellie Huntington, for once again doing a marvellous job on organising the event and ensuring it ran as smoothly as possible.
Finally, thanks must also go to Tranmere Rovers for the use of their superb facilities, and we wish them well in the National league play-off final against Forest Green at Wembley stadium this Sunday. Good luck!
