Our new Volvo Stockport showroom is set to create 20 new jobs ahead of the opening this year. With the temporary facility already open, the build of the new State-of-the-Art Dealership is due for completion in September 2017.
The new showroom will comprise space for an eight-car display, with a separate vehicle handover area where customers will receive a full introduction to their vehicle and its innovative technology features.
A six-bay modern workshop will incorporate the latest equipment and diagnostic tools to meet the servicing and repair needs of Volvo owners in the region while outside there will be space for 50 Volvo Selekt approved used vehicles and customer parking.
The new facility will follow Volvo’s Scandinavian-inspired ‘VRE’ showroom concept as seen in the recently opened Lloyd Motors Carlisle and Brindley Wolverhampton dealerships.
Commenting on the work in progress, Franchise Manager, Miles Alvis, says “St Marys Way is one of the largest areas in the UK for new car registrations, which represents huge opportunities for both Lookers and Volvo, particularly as a whole new range of premium models will be coming to market over the next few years. Having been a franchised partner of Volvo since 2006, as part of the Lookers family we are investing heavily in the growth of the brand by looking at further relocation opportunities, as well as improving our existing facilities in Colchester and Glasgow.
“We’re immensely excited to have secured our new premises in Stockport and we’re looking forward to being a fully operational, stand-alone Volvo dealership in a year’s time. In the meantime, we will be based in a temporary facility where we have already started to welcome in customers, both old and new.”
Philip Hand, Head of Network Development at Volvo Car UK adds “Lookers’ new Stockport dealership is excellent news for Volvo and the representation of our brand in South Manchester. Getting the right representation in the right location was crucial for us and by working with an existing partner such as Lookers we have been able to achieve this on St Marys Way. The purpose-built VRE showroom will have large exterior and interior glazing, a focus on physical and digital presentation and integrated sales and service areas to deliver an open and friendly environment.”
