Reflecting the design of the A6 Saloon with taut surfaces, sharp edges and striking lines, it unmistakably conveys its sophisticated, dynamic and high tech character. The new model is 3mm shorter but 15mm wider and 9mm higher than its predecessor. The luggage capacity remains unchanged from the previous model, but with more loading width you can now fit two golf bags inside horizontally.
Noticeably sportier than the previous model, the new A6 features innovative new suspension options and dynamic all-wheel steering. At low speeds, the rear wheels steer in the opposite direction to the front wheels to make the A6 more agile while at high speeds the wheels turn in the same direction making it more stable when travelling in a straight line or changing lanes. All engines come with a mild hybrid system (MHEV) as standard and between 34.2 and 99.4 mph, the new A6 can coast in freewheeling mode. In real-world driving, the MHEV technology reduces fuel consumption by up to 0.7 litres per 100km.
The modern and sporty interior features the very latest in Audi technology including MMI touch response display with two large, high-resolution screens directed towards the driver. Audi Virtual Cockpit will also be available in the A6 Avant for the first time.
