The Ford Fiesta World Rally Car (WRC), winner of 20 international rallies, with a turbocharged 1.6 litre engine and 300 bhp performance is coming to Lookers Ford Chelmsford for you to see for yourselves!
Originally built for the Ford World Rally Team for the World Rally Championships 2011, the Fiesta WRC replaced the Ford Focus WRC. Based on 2011 World Rally Car regulations the Ford Fiesta WRC was fitted with a smaller 1.6 litre engine instead of 2.0 litre which were only allowed under the previous Super 2000 regulations.The lighter engine didn’t hamper the speed as it went on to win a handful of awards.
It won six international rallies before an updated RRC version was released in 2012, which went on to win a further 14 international rallies.
The power of this outstanding car comes from its 1.6-litre turbocharged EcoBoost engine, on which Ford collaborated with M-Sport and respected French Tuner Pipo Monteur. Add four-wheel drive transmission and a six-speed sequential gearbox and you’ve got an award winning rally car.
