There are four main car finance options when you buy a new car with Lookers:
• Hire purchase – you provide an initial deposit, then pay off the remaining loan balance in monthly instalments. Once fully paid, you will own the vehicle fully.
• Personal contract hire – pay a deposit, contribute monthly payments for a set time period – confirmed at the start of the agreement – then return the vehicle once the agreement has ended.
• Personal contract purchase – make an initial deposit, pay off the amount you borrow to obtain the vehicle in agreed instalments, then pay a dealer-agreed final payment, in order to receive full ownership of the vehicle at term end.
• Personal loan – take out a secured or unsecured loan with a bank, building society or finance company and use the funds to pay for a new vehicle. Loan can be paid off over a set number of years, at a fixed interest rate.
Lookers currently sell new cars worth between £14,995 and £227,999. Please check back regularly to discover the latest prices and models that we retail.
This depends on several factors. Including whether you want a lower initial cost or lower depreciation. We have created a handy guide on the best time to buy a new car to help you with your search.
As new cars are normally more valuable, they are usually more expensive to insure. It does depend on several factors though, including what car insurance group the car is in and your personal driver history.
It depends. You’ll pay a set amount of tax based on the car’s CO2 emissions in the first year. If your car is worth more than £40,000, you’ll have to pay an additional rate of £425, on top of the standard rate for five years.
Normally the warranty for a new car lasts three years, however, some brands may offer more. It’s worth contacting us to find out exactly what warranty you will receive when you buy your vehicle.
I recently purchased a pre-registered Nissan Juke from Charles Hurst in Belfast and my experience was very positive. Andrei patiently answered all my questions and sorted out any doubts effectively. He explained the main features of the vehicle very clear and assertively. I recommend this company if you are looking for a Nissan.
The easiest 5 star rating I've ever given, the whole experience was great from start to finish, everyone was so friendly and helpful and we test drove two cars without booking and buying the car was so easy, unveiling the car was such a great experience and our new CLA is awesome, special shout out to Harry who was awesome, thank you so much ðŸ‘
Brand new Mercedes AMG A35 Premium Plus has been back over 10 times since September for multiple issues that still are not fixed. The service is honestly all over the place. Managers are never available, everything gets passed around, and nothing feels owned. On top of that, I’ve been told completely different things by Mercedes UK compared to what the dealership is saying, including outright denial of things like the AMG track experience that I was already told about by Mercedes. What makes it worse is the actual repairs. I take the car in, it’s supposedly “fixedâ€, I leave, and the exact same issue is still there. Four separate times with the rattling alone. It’s basically just wasting my time for nothing. The car was even returned with missing cupholders on one visit. A brand new AMG with no cupholders. It’s honestly beyond careless at this point. Overall, it’s been inconsistent, poorly handled, and nowhere near what you expect from a Mercedes dealership.
Service and knowledge verging on incompetent. Callback issue not dealt with correctly. Recommended parts that don't need replacing and not replacing parts under the callback.
Summary: Worst customer experience I’ve ever had — took 3 visits to get a courtesy car I had booked, denied breakdown support on a technicality, and my car sat for over a month only to be misdiagnosed. Avoid Cupra via Cupra Stockport - if you’re set on one, go to Cupra Crewe instead. I got a Cupra Formentor in May 2025 and it has been nothing but problematic. Early on, the car started putting itself back into park when pulling away. I paid for a service and was told it was a gearbox issue that had been fixed — it wasn’t. Roadside assistance later said it was a software issue and sent it to Cupra Stockport. That’s where things got worse: - No courtesy car despite being promised one - I had to travel 1.5 hours round trip minutes, three times, just to collect a vehicle I was assured had been allocated - Eventually given an electric car despite having no way to charge it at home - Spent over a month paying significant costs to charge it publicly After all that, I finally got my car back — only for it to break down again within weeks. A few weeks having got my car back from Stockport, I returned to my car at 10pm and it wouldn’t start. I was left stranded in a train station car park, incurring charges with no way to move the vehicle. When I called roadside assistance, I was told I wasn’t covered because the car was registered in March — despite only receiving it in May. So after everything, I’m left completely stuck over a matter of weeks, while the car had already spent a month off the road a few weeks prior. To make matters worse, when I contacted Cupra Stockport again, they said they couldn’t even look at it for another three weeks. Im still awaiting confirmation on whether the AA could drop the car off in the meantime — a week later and still heard nothing back. I had no choice but to go elsewhere. Cupra Crewe took the car the same day and inspected it within days. They’ve now confirmed the issue is engine-related requiring 2 new parts — not software. So after a month with Stockport, the real issue still wasn’t identified or fixed. Overall: - 3 breakdowns in under 12 months - Over a month off the road - Significant out-of-pocket costs - No support when stranded after breakdown - Incorrect diagnosis after extended time in the workshop I work in corporate banking and the best piece of financial advice I’ve been giving to all of my clients is: Avoid Cupra Stockport.
I purchased a vehicle from Mercedes-Benz Maidstone and my experience has been unacceptable from start to finish. From the first day of ownership, I noticed issues with the steering and suspension. Within the first two weeks, the vehicle developed a fault which triggered the check engine light. The dealership then kept the car for approximately one and a half months to carry out repairs. Although some work was completed, the vehicle was returned to me with unresolved issues, particularly a persistent clunking noise from the suspension which I had reported from the beginning. I was initially told that components such as the shock absorber and suspension top mount were “wear and tear†and not covered, despite these problems arising within weeks of purchase. Only after I pushed the matter further did they agree to carry out some of this work. Even after these repairs, the problem has still not been resolved. I also raised a concern with the handbrake not fully releasing, but it appears this minor issue was prioritised in their assessment, while the main suspension fault was not properly recorded or addressed. As a result, my request to reject the vehicle was declined based on incomplete and inaccurate information. I first attempted to reject the vehicle within 22 days of ownership, while the vehicle had already developed faults and had been returned for repair. Despite this, and despite multiple repair attempts and ongoing issues, the dealership has refused to accept rejection. I have been left with a vehicle that has had repeated faults, significant time off the road, and unresolved issues that were present from the early stages of ownership. I do not recommend this Mercedes-Benz Maidstone dealership at all. They are not operating to Mercedes-Benz standards.
I had a great experience purchasing my car recently from Suff at Lookers Audi. Suff was professional, friendly, and very knowledgeable from start to finish. He took the time to answer all my questions without any pressure, which made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Everything was clearly explained by Suff and I felt confident in my decision. The car was exactly as described and in excellent condition when I collected it. I would definitely recommend Suff at Audi to anyone looking to buy a car and wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future. Thank you, Ashleigh.
We had a great sales experience with Ayr Audi, and in particular support from Ryan Brannigan. He was really well informed, supportive and reliable in all interactions. the quality of the car was excellent even though we were buying from afar. Pick up and followup was superb. Our best car buying experience to date. We will be back when we next change.
I was nervous about buying my first new car. I am glad that Rhianna was our dealer when we walked into the show room. She talked us through all the process with patients & a smile. I collected my car this morning. I love it now I need to read my way through the hand book!
