In the Corsa Electric, the traditional engine is replaced by a refined 100kW permanent-magnet electric motor that delivers smooth, instant power with no gear changes and no hesitation. It produces 136PS and 260Nm of torque from the moment you press the accelerator, giving the car a lively, responsive feel around town and confident performance on open roads. Power is delivered through a single-speed automatic transmission, so acceleration is seamless and quiet, with no vibration and no mechanical lag. The motor is paired with a 50kWh lithium-ion battery, of which around 46kWh is usable, providing strong real-world range and excellent efficiency. The battery is liquid-cooled to maintain optimum performance in all seasons and supports rapid charging when you need to top up quickly. With the 11kW onboard charger, home or workplace AC charging is fast and convenient, while DC rapid charging can take the battery from low to 80% in around half an hour. Regenerative braking captures energy as you slow down, feeding it back into the battery to extend your driving range and reduce wasted energy. Together, the electric motor and battery create a driving experience that is smooth, quiet and effortless, with instant torque, low running costs and zero tailpipe emissions. It’s a modern, efficient powertrain designed to make everyday driving easier and more enjoyable.
