Purchased a van, deposit paid and first finance payment paid. Couldn’t get the van for almost 5 weeks with different excuses thrown at me each time. Once I gave an ultimatum to have the van for next day or I’d be cancelling purchase, van was suddenly ready to be lifted and ‘didn’t need any work done’ as I’d asked to see an invoice for the work the van received. Working with paddy the sales man seemed good to begin with but once I’d emailed to say I was cancelling purchase, a complete shift in his attitude and couldn’t be bothered to answer the phone. Typical salesman behaviour and also tried to tell me I was over my 30 day cooling off period which id got confirmed from finance company I wasn’t. Ryan who dealt with my ROA was fantastic I must say and dealt with my cancellation professionally. Buy locally, big time dealerships just want a sale no matter if you’re back with the motor in a couple of months, they’ll take great pride in telling you your warranty isn’t worth a shite
I recently purchased my fourth Audi from Mo and Dan, and once again, the experience was excellent. They are always a pleasure to deal with friendly, professional, and genuinely committed to providing great service. What really stands out is their personal touch. They take the time to understand what you’re looking for and make the whole process smooth and enjoyable. It’s clear they both care about doing a good job and building lasting relationships with their customers. I would highly recommend Mo and Dan to anyone considering their next car purchase. I’ll definitely be returning to them again in the future.
I just bought myself my very first brand new motorcycle big thing for me as I’ve been motorcycling 38 years… I got myself a Yamaha MT09 SP wot a very cool machine… I traded in. Bike also and dealt with salesman Alex Morgan who was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable in all aspects, nothing was to much bother or trouble for him and the other staff there… if you’re looking for a new or second hand quality motorcycle everyone should check out both Yamaha and BMW motorcycles at Charles Hursts at Boucher Rd Belfast. Many Many thanks Alex…
STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE! Absolutely disgusting service. Took my a class there with a horrible engine clanging (which has now been resolved at a different private garage as a turbo). They decided to spend over a week diagnosing the issue, to then coming to the conclusion of charging over a thousand pounds for an exhaust. AFTER THREE WEEKS OF WAITING It was ready to “collect†with the same problems I dropped it off with! How can a mechanic diagnose & change an exhaust with a hideous engine noise that can be heard from a mile away. After throwing the keys back at them straight away they decided to argue not knowing the issue, and asking for a further week to diagnose. THIS TOOK 10 DAYS before they decided to charge a ridiculous amount saying they don’t like doing these jobs that’s why the price is high. How can a Mercedes garage who specialise in Mercedes cars don like fixing them. Then to further rub salt in the wound decide to try and charge me a further 140 for a diagnostics done. My argument was I’m not paying it, you’ve already had a thousand pounds out of me fixing the wrong part. Not to mention the 5 weeks it sat in Canterbury having to phone every couple of days begging for a response in how my car was doing. DISGUSTING SERVICE , DISGUSTING MECHANICS AND HORRIBLY RUN. If you have a Mercedes and it needs some work or a service, stay away from this place. Go to either a private garage or even Mercedes Ashford who will be a million times better than this place. Keep away or you’ll spend weeks waiting for a call saying they’ve over charged you for a part because they can’t be asked to do it!
We wanted a used VW and shopped around. By chance I came across Lookers in Battersea, a few miles from us. Anyway we purchased our next VW from there helped enormously by the sales exec Peter Williams. He was so helpful and knowledgeable as to the car that caught our eye, plus his whole manner was not that of the dreaded used car salesman of old. We would not hesitate going back as first port of call when back in the market for another car. Well done Lookers, Battersea.
This was my first time purchasing a car from a dealership, and unfortunately the experience aligned with all the worst expectations I had. I was searching for a Porsche Cayenne Coupe S and found one listed on AutoTrader. I contacted the dealership and spoke with James Beattie, who acted as the sales advisor for the vehicle. During the sales process, communication was frequent and responsive, calls were returned promptly, emails were answered quickly, and I was repeatedly assured that the car was in excellent condition and fully prepared for sale. I travelled from Birmingham to Belfast to view and collect the vehicle. Upon arrival, I immediately noticed warning messages on the dashboard, including TPMS and coolant system alerts. When I raised this with James, I was told not to worry and was assured that I could take the car to any Lookers dealership in England, where the issues would be resolved at no cost to me. To protect myself, I requested written confirmation of this agreement, which James provided via email. After making full payment and returning to Birmingham, I contacted multiple Lookers dealerships, only to be told that they had no record or understanding of any such arrangement. At this point, it became clear that the assurances given during the sale were either misleading or entirely false. When I followed up with James to clarify the way forward, communication immediately deteriorated. Calls went unanswered, emails were ignored for weeks at a time, and when responses did come, they consisted of vague promises to “get back to me†that were never fulfilled. Eventually, I was told that he had “done his part†and that I should handle the matter myself. This was less than one month after purchasing the car. The situation worsened significantly when I attempted to register the car for work use and discovered that the vehicle had no valid MOT and in fact, had been without an MOT for over a year. I had unknowingly been driving an unroadworthy vehicle for nearly a month. I did not check the MOT status prior to purchase because I did not expect a reputable dealership to sell a vehicle presented as “prepped and ready for sale†that had been without an MOT for such a prolonged period. I escalated the issue, at which point an After Sales Manager, Matthew Orchard Lisle, was assigned. Matthew was the only positive aspect of this entire experience. He followed up promptly, arranged the MOT, and ensured the car was taken to Porsche to resolve the outstanding issues professionally. From 26 January 2026, when I purchased the vehicle, it was not fully resolved until 9 April 2026. This timeline speaks volumes about the unnecessary stress, time, and effort I had to endure for issues that should never have existed in the first place. In conclusion, while I would not label the entire dealership as irredeemable, my experience with James Beattie was unacceptable. The conduct displayed, misrepresentation, lack of accountability, and complete disengagement after payment, falls far below the standard expected of a premium car dealership. If a cash buyer of a high‑value Porsche can be treated this way, it raises serious concerns about how other customers are treated day‑to‑day. Avoid James Beattie. Learn from my mistakes and take your business elsewhere.
If you want nothing but problems with your car then go here. If you want to have awful customer service go here. If you want a job and are useless go here, clearly the only question in their interviews are ' are you a waste of space?' and if you say yes you get the job on the spot. Over 5 years I've had to deal with them and from receptionist, to sales, to servicing they are the worst you can find. Do yourself a favour and don't visit them. Customer service - awful, Ignoring emails - brilliant. Selling damaged cars e.g old brake pad that squeak, broken interior, window tint peeled off - brilliant. Making people wait 45 mins for a job they personal tell you they will fix in 10 mins and then after waiting getting someone that's never done the job before to fix it because they are too busy - brilliant, not cancel previous finance so that you will get charged for your old car and new car - brilliant. If you don't take this advice to never used Charles Hurst vauxhall on the voucher road after someone who has had nothing but problems for 5 years or more then your don't complain when you have problems in the future. Having to bring you car to them due to the squeaky brakes they provided for you and then be told on 3 different occasions that they can't hear the squeak, even though they drive the car around the front and when they brake the brakes squeak, and then be told that they heard it but you'll have to record it and still nothing be done is one of the highlights. Making it worse, on the 3rd time of them lying about the break noise they send you home with a screw in your tire meaning you are out money paying for a new one.
