Extremely Disappointing Experience - Charles Hurst Newtownards. Today I collected my brand new car from Charles Hurst Newtownards, but unfortunately the overall experience was very bad. One of the sales team members, Nicole M. behaved in a very disappointing manner. Her attitude made me feel like I made a mistake choosing to buy a car from the Charles Hurst group. As a customer, whenever I asked questions or made requests, she was either unhelpful or refused to assist. I was not given proper options or any real chance to choose the car or colour — the response was simply “no, we don’t do that,†without explanation or support. We arrived at the showroom at 10:45 AM and did not receive the car until 6:00 PM. I was there with my family and my 9-month-old baby, yet we were made to wait for hours with no care or consideration. The entire process was poorly managed and extremely frustrating. However, I would like to mention that my experience with Manager Boyd H. was good. He was polite and dealt with us properly, which was the only positive part of the day. This was meant to be a happy day, but instead it turned into a very stressful and disappointing experience. I expect much better customer service from a well-known dealership like Charles Hurst.
Purchased my first Mercedes before Christmas, a GLC Urban Edition. Initially spoke to Jake Campbell-Mills on the phone and arranged an appointment to test drive the car. Was pleasantly surprised on arriving that Jake had got me a quote from a local company for fitting parking sensors since I'd asked on the phone whether it had them and said I would likely look into getting them fitted if not. The car was sold as Mercedes Benz approved used and was immaculately presented, with very few signs of the last 6 years of previous ownership. It was also a nice touch that Jake had brought the car into the show room so I could view it in more pleasant conditions as the weather had looked questionable for the afternoon. After taking the car for a test drive, Jake clearly explained the available finance options but in the end I opted to make my own arrangements. On collecting the car, it was freshly cleaned and again moved into the showroom. The only disappointment since owning the car is that the Urban Edition does not have a digital radio, only analogue. I find this quite surprising for a fairly recent luxury car, but since it has Android Auto it isn't as big an issue for me. It was never stated it had a digital radio, it's just I assumed in 2019 that digital radios were fairly standard across all manufacturers. I found it a pleasure to deal with Jake during the sales process and the few other people I had brief conversations with in the showroom were also helpful and polite. All in all, I was really happy with the whole experience and would recommend Lookers to anyone in the market for a Mercedes

â Very disappointing experience with Lookers VW Blackburn I purchased a brand new VW Tiguan in May 2024 from Lookers VW Blackburn. From the start, the car suffered from ongoing software issues. Due to these unresolved problems, I formally rejected the vehicle in September 2024. I was provided with a replacement new Tiguan in November 2024 and was explicitly promised by Lookers that this replacement vehicle had no software issues. Unfortunately, within days, problems began occurring again. Despite repeated assurances from Lookers VW Blackburn that nothing was wrong and that the issues were definitely not software-related, the problems continued. I then took the car to my nearest dealership, VW Bolton, who were excellent throughout. They immediately confirmed that the issues were software-related and explained that my car required a software update, which at that point was not yet available.( April 2025 ) I informed both the sales manager and branch manager at Lookers VW Blackburn via email, who continued to deny that my vehicle had any software faults and assured me my model was unaffected. In December 2024, after six separate visits to VW Bolton and oce to lookers Blackburn, my car finally received a two-day software update, which has resolved all the issues hopefully. This clearly confirms that the problems were software-related all along. Since then, I have contacted Lookers VW Blackburn multiple times by email to update them on the situation. I have received no responsesfrom the sales manger. I was also promised a call from the new sales manager, which has never happened, despite waiting over three weeks. Overall, this experience has been extremely frustrating. I feel I was misinformed, ignored, and let down by Lookers VW Blackburn, especially given that another VW dealership was able to identify and resolve the issue professionally and honestly. I would not recommend this branch based on my experience.
I was very impressed with the service at Å koda Lookers Stockport especially with Ian Whittle who rang me a couple of times after my car was repaired in order to check that the fault had been resolved. I would have no hesitation in recommending Å koda Stockport to anyone due to their excellent service.
You will see all my other reviews highlight good customer service but this company has provided the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Visited for Golf GTi service and MOT in September - didn’t service it, had to go back a second time. Pointed out a rust issue below rear door to see if it could be remedied under warranty - sorry have to go to Preston branch. Went to Preston - sorry have to book it in and come back in a month. Went back to Preston - sorry don’t do that here, have to go to Blackburn despite being talked through what they were going to do a month earlier!. Phoned and went to Blackburn same day - sorry can’t find paint thickness gauge, we will take photos and get back to you shortly. Chased up twice, promised call back -nothing. My patience has finally run out - 3 months past and 4 days wasted and numerous phone calls. Highlighted my issues through their own complaints procedure 2 months ago, chased it up 1 month ago. They do not even have the courtesy to email a response. There are lots of great companies out there, please do yourself a favour and avoid Lookers.
