There are four main car finance options when you buy a new car with Lookers:
• Hire purchase – you provide an initial deposit, then pay off the remaining loan balance in monthly instalments. Once fully paid, you will own the vehicle fully.
• Personal contract hire – pay a deposit, contribute monthly payments for a set time period – confirmed at the start of the agreement – then return the vehicle once the agreement has ended.
• Personal contract purchase – make an initial deposit, pay off the amount you borrow to obtain the vehicle in agreed instalments, then pay a dealer-agreed final payment, in order to receive full ownership of the vehicle at term end.
• Personal loan – take out a secured or unsecured loan with a bank, building society or finance company and use the funds to pay for a new vehicle. Loan can be paid off over a set number of years, at a fixed interest rate.

It depends. You’ll pay a set amount of tax based on the car’s CO2 emissions in the first year. If your car is worth more than £40,000, you’ll have to pay an additional rate of £425, on top of the standard rate for five years.

On 29/05/25 Lookers VW Blackburn mis-sold a 2019 Audi Q5 2.0 tdi Quattro S line. The vehicle was advertised on Autotrader as having a full service history. The salesman also said it had a full Audi Manufacturers service history. I bought the vehicle in good faith in the firm belief this to be true. The promise and reassurance of a full service history was a major factor in my decision to buy this vehicle. It has transpired that it does not have a full service history as claimed and therefore is not as described. Consequently the value of this vehicle is immediately diminished and will continue to depreciate proportionately until I eventually come to change. The law and remedies relating to such matters is clear and straightforward. The after sales manager has now accepted the situation having been provided with full and irrefutable evidence, he refuses to provide a partial refund that I am legally entitled to claim and have requested. He stated today that this is his final position before promptly going on leave. Instead of honouring his obligations he had previously offered a free service in 12 months time which is inappropriate in the circumstances. I am now confidently seeking remedy by civil action. It would be remiss of me not to mention other matters which potential Lookers customers need to be aware of. It has been my experience that their vehicle preparation and service standards are poor. There has been other issues with the car some of which have been attended to others have not. Customer service quality is lacking. Emails are either fully ignored or fail to address the full issue and misinformation is not uncommon. For brevity I will briefly outline some examples. Whilst preparing the car for sale it underwent the 40,000 mile scheduled service which Lookers claimed was carried out in accordance with the manufacturers specification. It wasn't. The DSG transmission oil and filter should have been changed during that service but wasn't. Having challenged this I returned the vehicle and it was eventually changed. The Audi Q5 has a complex all wheel drive system and Audi recommend that all tyres are replaced simultaneously as is the case with all AWD vehicles as the rolling circumference of the tyres need to be matched. This common knowledge is covered on page 346 of the owners manuaI. Lookers, however, replaced one front tyre during pre sale preparation. The opposing tyre, by a different manufacturer, shows obvious wear and will not have the same rolling circumference which will be picked up by sensors and will constantly activate the AWD to the detriment of that system. Having raised this with the after sales manager he said the tyres on the vehicle were the ones that were on it when it arrived at Lookers. That was untrue and I pointed out the tyre soap on the tyre and referred him to the Lookers internal invoice dated 21/05/25 which itemised fitting of the tyre. The vehicle is a premium and expensive car yet it has three different brands of tyres fitted. Incidentally each tyre was excessively over inflated to the same pressure which is known hack employed in car sales and would not be immediately discovered by many owners particularly on vehicles equipped with tyre pressure loss sensors as with the Audi Q5. When my wife and viewed the vehicle the salesman revealed personal and confidential information regarding the previous owners financial situation and reasons for trading the car. We were also provided with information which included the name, address and email address of that person together with other details. We were alarmed and consider his actions contravened the GDPR and reported it to the after sales manager as we felt it to be our duty. Anticipating Lookers' generic response to unfavourable reviews when they ask the reviewer to contact them by email at Vehicle Complaints at lookers I would point out that my complaint has already been sent to that address and ticket #80611906Â refers.
Georgia Sayles the lovely sales assistant for farnborough Audi was fantastic from thinking about buying a new Audi to driving it home. Georgia kept me updated all the time whilst waiting for my car to arrive at the dealership. Georgia was always happy, pleasant and eager to help with any questions I had even getting things sorted that didn’t come as standard on the car, she sent paperwork across to read and sign and had the car all set up on the Audi app so when I arrived at Audi to collect my new car it was so easy and straightforward, she also drove my car home for me as my insurance didn’t start to the following day so I would have it on the morning, she also called a couple of days later to check that everything was okay and did I need assistance with anything. Georgia is a great asset to Farnborough Audi and I would 100% recommend her to anyone who is looking to buy an Audi from farnborough. Thankyou so very much Georgia Sayles 😀
The dealership itself was clean and well-presented, with professional and courteous staff. I initially submitted an online request to test drive a used Kia EV6, which unfortunately didn’t appear on their system when I called to confirm. However, Lookers were accommodating and arranged the test drive for the same day, which I appreciated. The main issue arose with the staff member assigned to us, Preston. From the outset, the interaction felt somewhat disengaged, as if our presence was an inconvenience. While he did organise the test drive and helped with the insurance process, the customer experience lacked the attention and enthusiasm one might expect when considering a significant purchase. For instance, I was briefly asked whether I’d driven an automatic before, then handed the keys without any walkthrough of the vehicle’s features. While the EV6 is intuitive to drive, the software and systems it includes warrant some explanation, particularly for customers unfamiliar with electric vehicles. My disappointment stems largely from having had a much more engaging and informative experience at another dealership. There, the staff took time to understand our needs, explained key features, and made us feel genuinely welcome. Unfortunately, this visit to Lookers fell short in comparison.
Very friendly and helpful staff when we visited the Skoda garage, nothing was too much trouble. Only complaint, we found it difficult to speak to the relevant members of the sales team when we telephoned.
