Terrible experience, VW vehicles are nice but beware if you buy a used one from this lot, pray yours doesnt have any issues, if it does this lot will not help you, you will be insulted and told lots of rubbish. I will never buy from this dealership again. Here is an example of one of my several issues, the tiguan would not hold the road and despite being told it had nothing wrong with it i took it to an independent, look what they found, every wheel out of alignment, the manager refuses to refund me. I will probably get a meaningless reply to this review making it look like they want to help, no you have had your chance and made it very clear already. Beware.
Extremely disappointed with VW Blackburn and the way this whole situation was handled. I called regarding a VW Tiguan Allspace and made an appointment to view the car at 1pm the following day. As I was travelling from North Wales and was around 40 minutes away, I called beforehand to let them know I was going to be slightly late. I was then told that another customer was coming to view the car at 1pm. I explained that, in that case, there was no point in me making the journey. VW Blackburn then called me back and told me that the other customer wasn’t actually coming until 2:30pm and that if I arrived before then, I would be able to view the car. Based on that information, I continued my journey from North Wales. While I was on my way, I was then called and told that the car had been SOLD. I was absolutely furious. I had travelled a considerable distance based on the information I had been given by the dealership. I had made it very clear that I was genuinely interested in the vehicle and intended to purchase it on finance. I even offered to pay a deposit there and then to secure the car and take it off sale. I was told that I couldn’t do this unless I negotiated a price, despite already making it clear that I wanted the vehicle and was prepared to proceed with finance. I completely understand that a vehicle can be sold at any time, but this is not about the fact that the car sold. It is about the way I was treated and the completely contradictory information I was given. I would never have continued my journey from North Wales if I had been told honestly that another customer was viewing the vehicle and that there was a genuine possibility it would be sold. The dealership knew I was travelling a significant distance, yet I was encouraged to continue my journey and then told the car had been sold while I was on my way. This was an extremely frustrating and disappointing experience. I feel my time was completely wasted and that I was not treated like a genuine customer who was seriously interested in buying a vehicle. I would expect much better communication and customer service from a Volkswagen dealership. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I would think very carefully before dealing with VW Blackburn again.

âï¸ 1 star — Extremely disappointing experience I purchased my car from Charles Hurst on 16 May, travelling from Dublin to Belfast. My experience started positively. I dealt with Clive, who initially seemed extremely helpful while I was considering the car. Unfortunately, once I committed to purchasing the car and sending over a 70% deposit, my experience changed completely. Because I was travelling from Dublin, I asked for a full video of the car and needed clear communication before making the journey. Communication became increasingly difficult, with replies sometimes taking several days. I had already paid more than half of the car upfront and arranged to pay the remainder in cash. I had agreed a collection date, bought train tickets and taken time off work. Despite having weeks to prepare, I was contacted at around 5pm the day before to be told that the wipers were faulty. I was extremely frustrated because I had already made arrangements to travel from Dublin. When I questioned why this had only been discovered at the last minute, Clive told me that he wasn’t a mechanic and there was nothing he could do. The collection was then delayed again, with further explanations given, including the car not being valeted and the dealership closing early on a Saturday. I escalated the matter to management because I no longer felt comfortable dealing with Clive. I told them that I didn’t care who handed me the keys — I simply wanted the car I had paid for. Eventually, I travelled by train from Dublin to Belfast, paid the remaining balance and collected the car. Then, halfway home, the dashboard warned me that the wipers were malfunctioning. The wipers would repeatedly activate on completely dry glass and would not stop. This wasn’t a minor inconvenience; I considered it a genuine safety concern. I contacted Clive on 16 May, the same day I purchased the car, to report the problem. Despite multiple calls and emails, I was repeatedly left chasing for updates. I explained that the wipers were dry-rubbing the windscreen and that I considered the situation a safety hazard. I was initially directed towards a mechanic in Belfast and told I would need to bring the car back and potentially pay for repairs myself. Eventually, after weeks of emails and phone calls, I was instructed to arrange my own diagnostic with MSL Dublin. I did this and, on 17 June, paid for the diagnostic myself. I sent the invoice to the dealership and continued chasing because the diagnostic itself did not fix the wipers. It eventually took until 10 July for the repair appointment to be arranged. To be fair, Charles Hurst eventually reimbursed me for the diagnostic and arranged payment for the wiper repair, and I am grateful that this particular issue was ultimately resolved. However, unfortunately, the problems have not ended there. To this day, I still have further issues with the car that have not been dealt with. Despite raising these issues and repeatedly trying to get help, I have been left with little to no communication and no meaningful action to resolve them. That is what I find most disappointing. I understand that cars can have problems and that things can go wrong. What I find unacceptable is the lack of communication, the repeated delays, and having to constantly chase a dealership after spending a significant amount of money with them. From my experience, I have felt completely left on my own once the sale was completed. Overall, I am extremely disappointed with my experience with Charles Hurst. I personally would not recommend them based on my experience, and I certainly would not want to go through an experience like this again. I chose Charles Hurst because of its reputation and because I expected a high standard of customer service. Unfortunately, my experience has not reflected that. I hope other customers have a much better experience, but unfortunately, this has been mine
Poor service as usual, engine management light came person I spoke to not very interested or helpful, apart from overcharging, not at all satisfied, going elsewhere.
Perhaps this is the new way of buying a car but 3 days later (we viewed it on Saturday, paid for it in full on Thursday, brought it home also on Thursday and it is now Saturday evening) after numerous calls and emails to the dealership they still refuse to respond to our calls or emails and send us the invoice, multipoint service check info, or anything in writing for that matter about our purchase or the car including confirming that the V5 registration was completed correctly in our son’s name. This after the first initial call where the salesman said that if I didn’t pay a £500 deposit via an email link within 15 mins the price would go up by £479 and that the £99 reservation fee that I paid online would not guarantee they would hold the car for us to view the next day. Have we purchased a car from the dealer or was it all a scam? Our son is happy with the car but I have never even been to McDonald’s without getting a receipt let alone buying a car for ££££’s and having the salesperson say that the receipts come later via email without a single signature. They claim over the phone they are so busy so they can only see you for half hour appointments but when we arrived on the Saturday (their busiest day) only 1 out of 4 salesmen had customers and the other 3 were sat at their desks alone the entire time we were there. Very pushy, poor service and am so confused - feel like we have been had by this dealership and cannot fathom they would treat a young adult using all his own savings in such a poor manner. I wish we went elsewhere for his first car.
I received exceptional customer service from James Anderson at the Belfast Yamaha Motorcycle Sales Department. James provided first class information on the purchase of my new Yamaha Tracer9GT, answered all my questions, kept me fully advised at all times during the purchase process and gave an excellent vehicle handover at pick up.
The car was booked in for MOT prep and test and also a service. The information given was accurate - we were told exactly what we had to do and what we had to keep an eye on. The staff were friendly and helpful. The car was returned in exactly the way we hoped.
