Shocking service. Missed faults that I specifically asked to be checked on a number of occasions over last few years, which they told me they had and all was fine only for the same fault to cause vehicle to breakdown weeks later. Left grease in my carpet and I witnessed the service agent who proceeded to resolve it by rubbing it in and could not understand why that was not a problem, provided with filthy courtesy cars (photos attached), claimed break discs grew by 2mm 2 services within a few months as well as other contradictions between service reports.Over 10 visits but Teessides “master” technicians could not “find” a fault despite the customer pointing them in the right direction (likely because they rely on a computer being plugged in and telling them their job). They dont want to prevent a problem, they want something to break first regardless of how it might impact safety. It took a breakdown mechanic 5 minutes to diagnose the problem over the telephone without looking at the car because he actually bothered to listen to what I was saying and confirmed it was the exact fault I had been begging this retailer to check. The retailer continued in poor spirits by failing to acknowledge nevermind apologise for anything and even tried to resist their duty to honour the breakdown service agreement to fix the car and provide a courtesy (despite this branch selling me the breakdown service). This pattern has happened more than once and for different faults (glow bulbs, media unit, front sensors). After raising it with VW customer complaints, Lookers Teesside’s general manager Lee Potts has been strategically ignoring their correspondences and requests to show evidence of the service reports to prove whether any of the concerns had actually been looked into. The silence says it all and it it literally the tip of the iceberg with this retailer. Poor service almost all round, almost every time (bar from Elizabeth Slade who is consistently helpful and considerate) and a poorer attitude from senior staff for over 2 years will mean I will never step foot in a VW retailer for the rest of my life. Zero professionalism, -1 accountability. Totally ruined VW’s brand and will recommend anyone and all who will listen to stay away.
